Get control of your oil temperatures year round. With our new air controller, you can control the air flow in the wintertime and when flying at higher altitudes to the point of shutting off the air completely or opening the air flow up to almost 100%. Mounting oil cooler on the firewall allowed us to design a butterfly-style controller to control the air flow from almost zero to close to 100%. This gives you greater range of control unlike the shutter vent design. We have tested the air controller on two different RV-10s that have flown in a very wide range of temperatures. The controller works great. My partner says you finally can control your oil temperatures and put them where you want. It requires very little installation. One end of the controller is flared to fit nicely over the 3" flange on the back of the baffling, and you just hook your scat tubing that runs to the oil cooler to the other end with your clamp. You then just need to install a standard push-pull cable and run to wherever you want to locate it in the instrument panel. That's it. You can install it on any flying plane or during your building process. The lever position on the controller can be changed if you want to install it a different way than what's in the pictures. You could even install it on the oil cooler mount if you wanted. Included Bowden cable clamp for push-pull connection. *push-pull cable not included The Kit is list in a seperate part number.
This setup will work well on any experimental plane. Vans Aircraft sells a firewall mounting kit with the 3" flanges. Van's part number is "EA3" Oil cooler duct"
